More planning and funds need to be channeled to provide for the basic needs of this group of citizens who are major contributors to the development of the nation. Neglecting them will only lead to the many social ills in cities and major towns.
The 1Malaysia clinic concept is indeed a positive move in caring for the welfare of these urban poor. It comes at an appropriate time when the cost of basic health care is becoming beyond the reach of many wage earners in urban areas who are struggling to cope with the economic downturn.

1Malaysia Concepts
1Malaysia Concepts: Moving forward as one nation
We believe that Unity will help our country join high-income and highly-developed club. Hence, the 1Malaysia concept — based on national unity, ethnic and religious tolerance; a deeper appreciation of our cultural diversity, and greater government efficiency and responsiveness is the path that can lead to political stability, economic growth and social enhancement for all Malaysians and for our country as a whole.
As a responsible, creative and innovative thinking and conscientious people, with a government committed to policies and actions aimed at the highest good for our nation and its people, we can certainly hope with faith and confidence, that our cherished 1Malaysia ideals can and will be realised.
1Malaysia Theme Song
"Dunia kian berubah
Perubahan melingkari
Melaksana hasrat hati
Kejayaan terbukti
Dunia yang megah
Dengan misi yang gagah
Kerana perpaduan
Kita masih bersama
Kita satu bangsa, Kita satu Negara
Kita satu matlamat, oooo
Kita satu bangsa, satu Negara
Kita satu Malaysia
Bermulanya sekarang
Perjalanan dilaksana
Seia sekata sehati dan sejiwa
Membina masa hadapan
Menuju kejayaan
Kita semua rakyat Malaysia
Harmoni, saling menghormati
Kita satu bangsa, Kita satu Negara
Kita satu matlamat, oooo
Kita satu bangsa, satu Negara
Kita satu Malaysia"

About 1Malaysia
Current globalization challenges sweeping the world require the reassigning of strategies so as to not be excluded or isolated from the speed of development or become victims of oppression by certain quarters. To overcome this situation, Malaysians, regardless of race or religion need to think and act as one race, that is the Malaysian race that thinks and acts towards a common goal to build a world that is prosperous, progressive, peaceful and safe thus enabling it to compete with other communities in the world.
In the effort to create a Malaysian race that is more resilient in overcoming all kinds of challenges brought about by globalization, including socialistic, economical and political, Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak has introduced the concept of 1Malaysia.
1Malaysia is based on the principle of ‘People First, Performance Now’. This concept fulfils the aspirations of Malaysians in line with the allocation enshrined in the Federal Constitution and National Principles.
The Malaysian concept seeks to strengthen relationship and cooperation among the multi-ethnic people in this country. This 1Malaysia concept is also able to turn Malaysia into a more peaceful, well-grounded and progressive nation in every endeavor that will be respected by the world over.
